Organization of care in France

As part of the Rare Diseases Plan set up by the Ministry of Health, the various services regularly providing care were identified.
Centers of Reference and Competence have been defined. They constitute a network within which information can be shared, with the aim of improving practices.
For the orofacial clefts, two Reference Centers are responsible for the network, that of the rare malformations of the face and the oral cavity of the Trousseau hospital in Paris (Pr MP Vasquez) and that of the rare facial cranial malformations of Lille (Pr P .Pellerin).
The Centers of Reference and Competence distributed throughout the territory all provide quality care to children with cleft palate. They were selected on objective quantitative and qualitative criteria.
